What type of rehabs are available in Oklahoma City?
There may not be a straightforward cure for alcohol or drug addiction, but medical professionals are certain of one thing: there's no such thing as an one-size-fits-all drug treatment facility that works for every person. Oklahoma City has some different types of rehab programs, each directed toward different types of patients. The most preferred types of rehab centers offered in Oklahoma City are inpatient and outpatient programs, traditional treatments, holistic drug rehabs, and religious treatments of addiction. Each different kind of rehabilitation provides a variety of advantages to different kinds of patients.
Inpatient Drug Rehabilitation
Oklahoma City's inpatient rehab centers can be considered a gold standard of drug rehab. These programs are the most comprehensive type of rehab center available and they can deal with the issues of detox and withdrawal, as well as any psychiatric issues such as anxiety and depression that typically occur with addiction.
Inpatient rehabilitation is particularly effective for people who've been struggling with long term addiction, although even shorter-term addicts may find that a 30 - 60 day stay is enough to fully address the problem and get a new start.
Outpatient Treatment
Outpatient rehab centers make it possible for the patient to keep going to school or to work, but because the program is outpatient it's easier for the patient to relapse. Detox services as well as assistance with psychological and medical problems have to be separately addressed with an outpatient rehab program.
Outpatient rehab centers are therefore suggested more for people who have short-term addictions as well as for patients who have already finished an inpatient rehabilitation program and just need additional support for their recovery.
Traditional Drug Rehab Treatments
Traditional treatments are typically based on the 12 step approach and traditions. Because 12 step meetings are free, universal, and based in the community, many patients find that beginning their recovery process with one of these programs is very beneficial. Different traditional treatment programs have different ideas. Some focus on just the 12-step approach, while others integrate different aspects of treatment. Patients benefit most from these programs when they attend meetings on a daily basis.
Holistic Drug Rehab
Holistic rehab programs are typically inpatient programs that involve the whole spectrum of treatment approaches, from 12-step ideology, psychological treatment, medical care, to alternative therapy like yoga and acupuncture. These programs have a tendency to concentrate on whole body health and good nutrition as well as strategies of improving psychological and emotional health. These programs have been proven to be extremely effective in the long term.
Religious Drug Treatment
Religious drug rehab programs integrate a heavy emphasis on religiously-oriented spiritual health and healing, as well as the medical and therapeutic options of holistic and traditional drug treatment programs. They're particularly helpful with people who were raised to believe in a particular religion and feel that going back to their religious roots would help with treating their addiction. Oklahoma City is home to a number of different religiously oriented drug treatment programs.
